Our next event is on 12th September and we are delighted to have Tony Ryan speak.

From startup to scaleup - what are your funding options?
Tony specialises in getting companies ‘Fit for Finance’ and then helping them to get the funding they need to kick start their growth plans. He has spent the last sixteen years working with SMEs through a variety of organisations such as the Business Growth Service, the Start Up Loan scheme, Growth Accelerator, Growth Vouchers and various consulting and mentoring organisations. He also runs his own consulting company helping start-ups and SME companies to obtain a wide variety of financing options, from grants to crowd funding. He is currently advising Startup Direct to fund growth for their clients and working with Coast to Capital as a Business Growth Champion. Tony also works closely with the major retail banks which, despite media statements to the contrary, ARE still providing finance for SMEs!

Tony has set up and run his own coaching and consulting companies, selling two of them on successfully. He has been a director of two listed companies and was also a director at Deloitte Consulting and KPMG Consulting, as well as establishing, running and selling a sales coaching company. He has delivered in excess of 100 business clinics for SMEs, in conjunction with banks, local councils and other SME support organisations.

In the UK approximately 80% of all SME finance comes through the banks, but in the USA it is only 20%. At this event Tony will discuss some of the many options available to start-ups and SMEs. The biggest problem facing most young businesses is that they are very good at what they do, but they ‘do not know what they don’t know’. Tony will enlighten us by explaining some of the options available and how to go about obtaining these alternative forms of finance.
