On Sunday 13th April Simon Speller, Principal at Hillier Hopkins LLP, will be taking up the challenge of running the 33rd London Marathon.
Simon is raising money for the charity “Beating Bowel Cancer” for his inspirational friend, Mrs Charley Kitley.
Charley was diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer in February 2012 and it has since spread to her liver and lungs. She was told it was inoperable and had 6 months to live in November 2012. Fabulously she is still here in January 2014!
Since her diagnosis, she has undergone 3 operations, 25 rounds of radiotherapy and 38 rounds of chemo (most people are offered 6 or maybe 12!).
This will be Simon’s first marathon run and he has set himself a target of raising £6,000 for this worthwhile cause.
