Trustees

We provide services to trustees. Trustees are in many cases compelled to seek professional investment advice. We are aware of trustees’ and our own obligations under the Trustee Act 2000.

Our portfolios use institutional rather than retail type funds. These funds deliver the pure returns of various asset classes. They trade less frequently and have typical Annual Management Charges of 0.25% to 0.5% per annum.

Our ability to offer a complete solution – including not just tax reporting but also a full taxation compliance and advisory service under one roof – is highly valued by professional trustees.

As for other private clients there are three key technical areas where we can add value:-

1) Portfolio design

We design portfolios similar to those used by the largest institutional investors. Our portfolios are based on Nobel Prize winning academic research including hard empirical evidence.

2) Expense reduction

Explicit expenses and hidden expenses such as market impact cost are all drains on the end result. The beneficiaries’ receipts are reduced by all these expenses. We can usually reduce expenses. In many cases the reduction in fees achieved more than covers our total fees.

3) Tax planning

We all hold taxation qualifications but within the team we have specialists with in depth knowledge and experience of how best to plan clients’ affairs. We have two STEP members, we have several CTA qualified individuals, we have specialists in land, property, inheritance tax, stamp duty and VAT. If there is a taxation issue, we will have the expertise to investigate it and report back promptly to the relationship manager and the client on how to deal with the issue.
