A Social Firm
At Hillier Hopkins we have a busy programme of social activities that take place throughout the year.
Christmas Party: |
Every year in December all staff and their partners are invited to the Christmas party. Last year it was held at Moor Park where a 3-course meal was followed by a casino and disco until late. Previous venues have included Pendley Manor in Tring and Latimer House in Chesham. |
| Summer Event: |
The firm also holds a summer event for staff. Previous events have included an outdoor activity day in Markyate including quad biking, archery, shooting, 4x4 driving followed by a BBQ; Horseracing at Newbury and Windsor; open air 70’s Tribute Night in Buckinghamshire; and a river boat cruise with casino on the Thames. |
| Investment Club: |
The firm runs 2 investment clubs open to all staff. Staff can choose between two levels of investment. It is a fun way to learn about investing in the stock market. The club meet to discuss the selling and buying of new shares. |
| Charity Events: |
Hillier Hopkins raises money for charities throughout the year, such as Jeans for Genes, Children in Need and Comic Relief Red Nose Day. Money is raised through the selling of cakes, DVDs and CDs, dress down days, games of Bingo, and various competitions. |
Fantasy Football:

The firm runs a Fantasy Football competition throughout the football season. Players predict football scores on a weekly basis and gain points for predicting correctly – there is a weekly cash prize for those with the most points. The competition has 2 leagues, a premiership league and championship league. At the end of the season, the top 3 winners of each league receive cash prizes. |
| Social Events: |
We also have a social secretary who organises a series of events throughout the year. These have included London theatre trips, ice-skating at Kew Gardens, and dog racing in Walthamstow. |
| Football: |
There is a football team within the company that plays on a regular basis in Watford. |
| Golf: |
A group of staff regularly get together to play golf. |
| Cricket: |
Once a year in the summer Hillier Hopkins is challenged to a game of cricket by Taylor Walton, a firm of local solicitors. All members of staff are invited to participate, either batting, fielding, or to attend as support. There is an opportunity to socialise throughout the game and during the refreshments afterwards. |
| Rounders: |
During the summer months we organise an inter-office game of rounders, either played at Watford or Hemel Hempstead. |
