Pensionline News Bulletin 3

In this March Pensionline Bulletin we profile recent news from the NAPF:

Lack of confidence in pension income
New research by the NAPF indicates that only one in three people (34%) believe their pension will give them enough to live on in retirement. However, 44% still think that a pension is the best way to save for retirement, outstripping property at only 18%.

Comet latest quality DC scheme
Comet has become the latest company scheme to achieve the NAPF's Pension Quality Mark, bringing the total number awarded to 37.

Alternative plans for taxing high earners' pensions
With a strapline of 'Stop, Look, Listen', the NAPF has responded to the Governments proposals for taxing pension contributions of high earners. Government is urged to 'Stop' their own planned changes, 'Look' at the potential threat to wider pensions savings (the NAPF believe Government proposals will not just affect high earners) and 'Listen' to the NAPF's alternative, simpler approach.
