Hillier Hopkins News

Our History

Established in 1933 by Langford Lewis and John Hillier in Luton as Lewis, Hillier & Co. In 1938 the practice expanded to Hemel Hempstead. Leonard Hopkins joined the firm in 1943, later replacing Mr Lewis as Partner at the Hemel office in 1952, when the practice changed to Hillier Hopkins & Co.

Continual growth in Hertfordshire led to the opening of a Watford office 1954. In 1957 the Society of Accountants and Auditors merged with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, giving Hillier Hopkins ‘Chartered’ status.

It was not until 1997, following a merger, that Hillier Hopkins expanded into an office in Aylesbury. In 2003, Hillier Hopkins became a Limited Liability Partnership (LLP).

In 2008, the firm merged with Badger Hakim of London, giving Hillier Hopkins a fourth office location in the capital, 2 additional Principals and 15 staff members.

It has grown to become one of the region’s leading Chartered Accountants, with 4 office locations, Aylesbury, Hemel Hempstead, Watford and London, servicing clients in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, and London. With over 130 staff and 19 Principals, the firm provides advice and support for over 4,000 clients, including some with international concerns.
